Hardwood mouldings
window casings and jambs.. install side mouldings first and then scribe
and cut header moulding

Mouldings window casings and jambs cut from same pine as used for
ceiling...summer resort look and feel

Door
header trim Note: reveal of about 1/4" between side of jamb and casing
and also note header overlaps casing by about 1/2"
Both
of these reveal techniques helps eliminate unsightly lines
caused by twisted stock that show up when you try to flush seams
together

above window uses drywall returns on side jambs..note plastic channel
seperates drywall from window to ensure moisture does not harm drywall
-tiled
window ledge is a great place for plants etc.
-scribing
is the best measuring device for base board mouldings
-interior
corner mitered baseboard use piece of material to scribe then use
coping saw
-using
a long piece of moulding on a wall..
mark the
centre of wall.. . place
long piece in one corner mark at centre of wall .. . place other end in
other corner mark at centre of wall the distance between two marks is
the length of off cut
-
mitre cut and return corners on self so there are no exposed end pieces
-scarf
or butt adjacent pieces of moulding
-cope
joints at inside corners
-mitre joints at out side

-use
a nailer to avoid splitting
-mitre
outside corners cope inside corners
-mitre
and return ends
-scarf or butt adjacent
pieces
